I am desperately trying to find a look and feel that will best convey a sense of warmth and comfort. It needs to be easy to navigate. It needs to be INTERESTING! (Just as interesting and captivating as the story itself...)
Anyone that has expertise in this area, (and would be willing to help), would be most appreciated.

Kinda know how to use the thing. Messed w/ your BG a bit - it looks good now. Had to really dull down the .jpg quality to fit within the constraints placed on uploading background images. Also, i made it stop scrolling with the background...a little more homely, pages scroll quicker (without having to recapture a MASSIVE background photo).
